That Black Skater Dress

Holaaaa ,

I can't begin to explain you how much time I've spent on internet websites lately finding stuff as of lately . It's kindda pathetic and embarrassing , but that's what I love the most and basically what I am good at , except the fact that soon I'm gonna be a designer . What's worse is I've yet to purchase a single item from the new season of beautiful clothing . But the search is still on ..

Lately , I've seen a number of horribly styled skater dresses and tunics alike and wanted to do a post on " how to properly wear a skater dress " in the hopes of saving at least one person from the proverbial fashion police . My main piece of advice would be to remember your skater dress is a layering piece - meaning that it's not appropriate to simply toss it on and run out of the door with your bare arms and bare legs . Possibly in the summer if you have a super sweat body and pair it with adorable shoes - but most definitely not in the spring .

Anyways , the other day I managed to leave the scrubs at home and I decided to go for a ' girly ' look with this black mini skater dress that I recently purchased from Forever 21 . So , to give it up a little twist , I styled this look in two ways .

LOOK 1 : Rustic Look

My suggestion for this look as you can see in the pictures . The black skater dress was paired with a pair of brown high boots and a blue floral - print slit cape . This adds to the " cow-boyish / rustic " feel and also feminizes the outfit a bit . Paired with only a silver work based blue ring and a black choker with multi - layered neck pieces and a pair of sunglasses to bare the heat .

Brown Boots : Wings , Karol Bagh
Blue Ring : Local
Black Choker : Style Silhouette
Pink Bow Neck piece : Style Silhouette
Two - layered Silver Neck piece : Fashion Police India
Sunglasses : Local
On my Lips : NYX Soft Matte

LOOK 2 : Indian Look

My suggestion for this look as you can see in the pictures . In this look , the black skater dress was paired with a Indian short jacket , it is as you are thinking is very similar to the ones we get in Rajasthan . The typical jootis , bangles , a pair of small earrings and a big goldenish - white ring and a pair of round - vintage style reflectors . This look turned out to be a very colorful look overall and was my ' personal favorite ' , when compared between these two looks .

Rajasthani Jacket : Kamla Nagar
Jootis : Local
Bangles : Juvalia
White Ring : Trade Fair
Little Green Earrings : Trade Fair

On my Lips : L'Oreal Colour Riche

All in all , this is how I would style a skater dress . If you disagree , feel free to do as you please . Or even if you like any of the above look , just feel free to comment . Just know that I'm putting a cardigan on you with my mind , LOL , just kidding :P

So , this is it for this post , more interesting posts coming up very soon . So stay tuned !

Keep loving and waiting .. Until next time !

Much Love

Summer Ready

"Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful . "

~ Sophia Loren

Hola lovies  ,
How you doing ? This blog post is all about summers .. The summer ready ; boho , girly , funky , biker chick type looks !

This time I came up with post with three looks , as I had mentioned before too I'll be coming up with many interesting posts now , so here is one .

The garments were made  by a college senior of mine and the main emphasis is on the Fringe Jacket in the first look ; the Brown Leather Double Slit Skirt in the second look ; and the Blue Floral Printed Co-Ord Set in the third look .

This post basically has three looks . Have a look at the pictures below ..

LOOK 1 : Fringe Jacket

In this look a black colored leather fringe jacket is paired with red dress from Forever 21 and reddish brown boots . The makeup was kept quite heavy this time , as you can see in the pictures too , heavy eye - makeup with long silver earrings and funky silver rings  in each finger of left hand and the hair were left loose .

LOOK 2 : Brown Leather Double Slit Skirt

This look basically has a brown leather double slit skirt paired with black crop top from Forever 21 and black heels . Again in this look too , the makeup was quite heavy to give it a fashionista kindda look , with a  golden earcuff and a golden bracelet and the hair tied in a side pony .

LOOK 3 : The Blue Floral Print Co-Ord Set

In this look , its all and all about being a chick ,, about posing randomly ,the perfect look created for summerssss .. This is a blue floral printed co-ord set with a side slit and a matching hairband too . A pair of orange sunglasses , that perfectly matches with the dress and orange wedges . The makeup applied in this look was only a orange lipstick with blue eye shadow and my hair were tied in a bun for this one .

So , this is it for this post , I'll be coming up with more interesting posts this month , so stay tuned .. And let me know which one from these three looks is your favorite ?

Keep loving and waiting .. Until next time !

Much Love ,

Shreya

Lakme Fashion Week Ready with Flyrobe

Hi lovelies !

How have you all been doing ? So , finally April is here . SUMMERSSSSS *_* I am summer ready , Are you ? I personally prefer summers more than any other season ! And I am lucky enough in that case , because here in Mumbai , its summer all year :D

So , coming back to the blog post , as you all are aware about the ongoing LAKME FASHION WEEK , SPRING - SUMMER COLLECTION , in Mumbai , which unfortunately I won't be able to attend due to some reasons , so I tried creating a look for the same with Flyrobe .

Its actually a fashion fever over there , so I tried styling a look with this dark yellow slit halter - neck gown , which has some red patches of embroidery on the neck area . Plus , this gown gives a stunning Indo - western touch which enhances the overall look of this piece .

I styled this gown , with golden flat sandals , and a golden metallic cuff from Juvalia with a big red and golden ring and maroon lipstick from Revlon ! You can alternatively try this gown with red or maroon stilettos , but don't wear a neck piece because it'll spoil the patch work on the neck and will give a very gaudy look . You can probably carry a sling or a golden clutch too with this pretty gown .

So , this is it for this post , have a look at the pictures below and let me know how you liked this look . And I'm gonna be coming up with many interesting posts , so stay tuned !

Keep loving and waiting .. Until next time !

Much Love ,

Shreya
